I have to say I find that the shades from Emme Cosmetics are quite true to the photos displayed on the website. But that doesn't;t stop them from being even more delightful unperson. This shade of Lilac had a deep grunginess that was perfect for my deep skin tone. These mattes are pigmented without being harsh because the formula allows the colors to just melt right into your skin. I find that these mattes are the best formula I have tried so far. Don't get me wrong I have enjoyed mattes from some other indie brands - but there is something quite special about these mattes because they of how they blend into the skin. FYI, I am of quite deep skin tone (foundation shade is 445 Fenty) and all the mattes that I bought were perfect on my skin tone. Here is a quick list below of the mattes I have ordered (so far because I aim to collect almost all of them): Broccoli, Lilly, Marine, New Love, Mauve Velvet, Old Jeans, Paris, Smoky Plum, Strawberry Cheesecake, and Sunflower. Each color was surprisingly as deep as pictured - I know I keep noting this - but this is very important because it made me feel secure to aptly gauge and judge what would work for my skin tone depth as well as my warm/olive undertone. My first choice of matte colors was to get the shades that were on the darker side of the color spectrum and I am so glad I did as now I can happily pick up some of the lighter shades - knowing that these will also work for me as well (FYI, my wishlist has Bondi, Palm Tree, Olivia, Pond Water, Strawberry Cake Pop and Minttea for my next order). I am also leaving shorter reviews under the other matte colors and shimmers that I bought in case anyone is looking for how these were on deeper skin tone.
