Jelling with a mellow yellow I met me a fine fellow - for some reason this was singing in my brain as I swatched this lovely shade for the first time. I don't usually gravitate to yellow shadows, especially matte yellows. That's because they often can come up a bit ashy. I have been surprised with Sunflower, a shade I first noticed as part of the deeper version of Emme's Monet Jasper palette. I was intrigued by the shade and so on my second order to the company, I added it to my cart. The color has a bit of a grunge to it (a lot of Emme's mattes have a grungy edge to them) and this made it particularly great on my skin tone. This has become one of my favorite lid colors there I just slather it on and layer it alongside other shades - or sometimes layer sparkling shimmers and iridescent shades over it. Sunflower has become a staple in my everyday eyeshadow wear and I would not have thought this could happen for a yellow. I wanted to add that I find that I love using Emme's mattes directly on my skin with no primer and so I haven't tried Sunflower yet with a primer - but I will soon and wonder how much brighter the color will be - so excited for the results for spring and summer
